Here at St Paul’s Lifestyle OVERGROUND SOUND we’re interested in an array of subjects which make our lives simply better: music, film, ethics, the world around us, fashion, cursive writing, skipping, robotic technology, Mayan prophesies and of course comedy. Our work in the world of comedy has led us down many an interesting path; talking to Bill Hicks’ brother, Daniel Simonsen, Vince Fluke and Nick Sun, as well as seeing Tim Minchin perform, and hearing about Graham Clark’s taste of music in his ultimate playlist.
In the not so distant past, we were blessed with the chance to interview the brilliant Vince Fluke and the fantastic Nick Sun. We’ve previously interviewed Vince in regards to the Bill Hicks documentary “American: The Bill Hicks Story” along with the producer and director, and it’s always a delight to meet such funny, talented people.
You can watch the interview below, and their genuine friendliness, wittiness and friendship is really apparent.
We also recently interviewed Graham Clark, who previously revealed to us his ultimate playlist (which you can read about here), as well as an audio review of a gig of his. He’s hugely funny, warm, and just look at that beard. This insightful interview will be up shortly.
So all in all, it’s an exciting time for comedy in this country with the Edinburgh Festival Fring (check out their site here) coming up with such a huge cast of comedians including Nick, Vince and Daniel Simonsen performing. Things are going to be pretty darned funny I can tell you. You can see their upcoming shows at the festival here (Daniel Simonsen, Nick Sun, and Vince Fluke's performing an under the radar set with Couch Surf the Rip Tide from August the 14th to the 25th at Mood Nightclub at 6.45).
