Continuing with the theme of Spanish music here at the moment at St Pauls Lifestyle since my arrival in Valencia, I'll be bringing you some of the best music that I've found here. Yesterday, we brought you La Casa Azul, a Belle and Sebastian sounding upbeat band, and now here's another perfect example of Spanish indie rock: We Are Standard.
Although they sing in English, their sound exemplifies the talent of the music scene here and that they are every bit as capable as writing astounding songs such as we see in the UK and USA, and that Spain is able to compete with the rest of the world. With bands like We Are Standard around, it's a crying shame that indie bands not from Britain or the States are overlooked a lot of the time (I cite our coverage of Roskilde Rising as an example of fine European indie music).
