After hearing Astraea from start to finish you realise the amount of effort gone into this L.P. This isn't just 2 or 3 standalone songs, each track relates to one another and therefore builds upon itself.
This type of layering is clear throughout the album even down to each individual track. The dissonant, complicated riffs begin to base around these melodic, dramatic moments and therefore more riffs and synths are built upon them after. This kind of progression makes it essential to take the time out to listen to the album start to finish.
Telling you this album is clever would be an understatement. Rolo Tomassi aren't being experimental for the sake of sounding different they are just making a purely great album. It's out 5th of November be sure to pick it up.
