Polar - behind-the-scenes cutting metal and gig review!

Imagine how thrilled we were to come across Polar backstage at Butserfest, customising their symbols.

We weren't surprised because this band's commitment to their sound runs deep. This came out in the interview we did with them which is below.

We thought you would like to see some photos of the guys cutting metal. - All done so that a particular type of resonance is achieved from the symbols; a technique we've seen quite often used by jazz musicians (would you believe!).

GIG REVIEW

We also caught up with Polar at the Wedgewood Rooms where the guys supported While She Sleeps.

Here's our review from that gig.

Polar. A hardcore punk band throwing themselves down all the way out of Guildford, Surrey. A blur of insanity, classic punk and general destruction are from what I remember of their set. For not many knowing the band, the crowd are more than willing to participate, at least 2 Walls of death are initiated during their short set, one person splitting his lip open.

The pure committed aggression and passion pouring from Adam's (frontman) vocals are just incredible, as this is one hardcore band which really stick it to old school punk, spitting into the audience, jumping into the crowd, moving around like they want to destroy everything in their fucking path. Polar are definitely one band to watch out for live, they put on some insane shows.
