Sonic Boom Six: Album review: 'Sonic Boom Six' - "fresh and sounding sick."

Sonic Boom Six  - Sonic Boom Six

Sonic Boom Six is a unique band, and this new album isn’t an exception. On this album they sound like a mix between The King Blues and Pendulum so if you like them you should love these guys. I love the electric feel and synths placed on the aggressive punky guitar and heavy bass lines, and I believe Sonic Boom Six have managed to keep the vibe fresh and sounding sick. My personal favourite part of the album is Barney’s vocals. They are excellent. With all the whack melody lines, which the other instruments create, Barney still manages to get the message across in his aggressive style.

We’ve seen these guys live and they’re electrifying. What is exciting about this album is that Sonic Boom Six have managed to translate the freshness of one of their live gigs into an album – tinned Sonic Boom Six if you like. But there’s more: Sonic Boom Six are demonstrating an ability to progress in their music – not just lyrically and emotively but also in the musical disciplines which the band embrace. We expect much from Sonic Boom Six and you can too. You’ll love this album.
